From a single audience suggestion of anything at all, long-form improvisers are able to bring new characters to life, develop interesting relationships from scratch, and weave together scenes to form a cohesive piece of theatre.
Though long-form improv is an art unto itself, the skills that will make you a better improviser — active listening, “Yes-And,” trust in your scene partner, etc. — can bring greater depth to your acting performances. Comedy institutions like The Second City in Chicago also use long-form improv as a proven method for creating written material.
This 4 day intensive will introduce you to the building blocks of a good scene through a progressive series of fun games and exercises. Bring it all together with a final performance for friends and family on the Trinkle Main Stage!
