Everyone loves those songs you know all the words to, but couldn’t possibly name the band that made them popular! A one-hit wonder is a top 40 phenomenon: the combination of artist and song that makes it big with one single, but is unable to repeat the achievement. Such music includes “Rockin’ Robin” in the 1950s to “Mambo No. 5” in the 90s. Artists of one hit wonders often fade into obscurity after their singular success, but three talented performers will be singing all those favorites in one great show. You’ll be on your feet singing and dancing along to these hits!

Since the new millennium began, Broadway has exploded with new musicals including Jersey Boys and Wicked, Next to Normal and Spring Awakening, and movie musicals including The Producers, The Little Mermaid and Legally Blonde. These shows have one great thing in common – their beautiful songs. This is an evening to hear talented MMT professional performers sing music from the new Golden Age of Broadway.

Over the past 50 years, much of the most memorable theatre music has been the creation of English composer and impresario, Andrew Lloyd Webber. Knighted by the Queen in 1992 for his service to music, Lloyd Webber composed The Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Cats, the recent School of Rock, and many others. MMT’s intimate concert format encourages you to hum along to your favorites.

Enjoy some quality entertainment from the comfort of your own living room with Mill Mountain Theatre’s Virtual Homecoming Concert! Favorite MMT performers from Mamma Mia!, The Sound of Music, West Side Story, Next To Normal, and more reprise their beloved roles in this digital concert event on December 5th. In addition to celebrating former MMT productions, the theatre staff will also announce its upcoming 2021 season. This exciting evening will be full of songs from Mill Mountain’s most popular past productions as well as music from the upcoming 2021 season, all presented by an all-star cast of everyone from Broadway veterans to local youth. The concert kicks off at 7:30PM ET on December 5 and will be streamed for free on Mill Mountain’s YouTube channel.
Remember some of the most celebrated entertainers of our time at our Music of the Crooners concert. Sit back and enjoy tunes originated by the velvety voices of singers like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, and more. Pop standards from the Great American Songbook will leave you humming all the way home.
