As we close our 2019 Season and take a look back at the year, we have much to celebrate and be thankful for. This is how you have made a difference at MMT in 2019…
- A successful MainStage Season of musicals, dramas, and family programming that entertained over 15,800 patrons.
- A growing Fringe Series, dedicated to programming contemporary and thought-provoking theatre with productions of “Next To Normal” and “Every Brilliant Thing” all thanks to the Friends of The Fringe, an affinity group supporting Fringe programming.
- Continuing our Mill Mountain Music Series with tunes from “Music of the 60’s” and “Let’s Go To The Movies”.
- A Conservatory program that is bursting at the seams with over 6,141 students. Classes and performance opportunities available for students Pre-K through Adult.
- Distributed 2,077 free books as part of our Literacy Initiative, connecting theatre to reading.
- Gave 38 Need-based scholarships to students to participate in our education program.
- A partnership with Hollins University that supports two New Works Festivals at Mill Mountain Theatre, in addition to “Overnight Sensations”.
- A partnership with Virginia Tech’s Arts Administrative Graduate programming, where Mill Mountain Theatre is a field study.
- A thriving presence in our community with outreach programming at The West End Center, residencies in the YMCA After School Program and Share the Magic.
- A continuing partnership with the Roanoke Parks & Rec programming a site specific production at the Fishburn Mansion.
- A wonderfully talented and dedicated staff of 13.
- A motivated group of volunteers, with our Conservatory Parents Guild, Ushers, and more!
- And you, our fabulous patrons, that give us the reason and support to bring live, professional theatre to our community.
