Episode 6: A Career in the Arts with Bill Muñoz

Our sixth episode explores what it’s like to have a career in the arts. Host Ginger Poole (MMT Producing Artistic Director) interviews guest Bill Muñoz (AEA Stage Manager) about their history in the business.

You have seen Bill Muñoz’s Stage Management work on the Trinkle MainStage in The Sound of Music (2019), Mamma Mia! (2018), A Christmas Story (2017) and The Marvelous Wonderettes (2013). Last year, Bill celebrated 30 years of being a proud Union member! Beginning at Flat Rock Playhouse, in Western NC, (29 seasons, over 130 productions) and working in theatres in the southeast, he has also worked as an Actor and Fight Choreographer. Bill resides in Hendersonville, NC, with lovely wife, while their daughter resides in NYC, attending the NY Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, pursuing a career in Film.

Episode 5: Inspire with Emma Leigh Gwin

Our fifth episode focuses on the word “Inspire”. Hosts Billie Aken-Tyers and Kayla Ryan Walsh interview Actress, Musician, and Educator, Emma Leigh Gwin.

You may have seen Emma shine at Mill Mountain Theatre as Maria in The Sound of Music, perform in various concerts: Let’s Go To The Movies and An Evening With Andrew Lloyd Webber, and even the Fringe Series production of The Little Lion as Another Sheina. Emma directed MMT’s Mother Goose Tales, and music directed A Year With Frog & Toad TYA and A Peter Rabbit Tale: A Children’s Musical. As a teaching artist, she has instructed more than 300 students throughout her time in the Education program and performed for over 7,000 patrons.

Episode 3: Challenge with Kristen Brooks Sandler

Our third episode focuses on the word “Challenge”. Host Ginger Poole interviews Choreographer, Performer, and Creative: Kristen Brooks Sandler.

You may have seen Kristen’s work on the Trinkle MainStage in Mamma Mia! (2019) or A Chorus Line (2018).

Kristen Brooks Sandler is a performer, international choreographer & movement director based out of NYC. A proud queer choreographer, Kristen is committed to physical storytelling that is simultaneously accessible and thought-provoking. She believes that movement is a universal language that can bridge the gap between audience and artistry. Her work can be seen on the screen and stage, creating for every medium from Oklahoma! to Nickelodeon. Performing is an innate part of her being; She has a passion for every aspect of the business that motivates her career and her personal life.

You may remember Lizz as Casie in MMT’s 2018 production of A Chorus Line. With over a decade of experience performing professionally, acting as an associate creative to a long list of top theatre choreographers and teaching her following of devout artists in her sold-out classes at Broadway Dance Center, Lizz Picini’s mission is to fulfill each role leading with a foundation of passion, empathy, and tenacity.

Timothy Booth most recently starred as Captain Georg von Trapp in MMT’s 2019 production of The Sound of Music. 27 years ago he made his professional debut on the Trinkle MainStage in Jesus Christ Superstar, My Fair Lady, Me and My Girl and Tomfoolery at Mill Mountain Theatre. A Virginia native and graduate of VA Tech. Recent MMT credits: Mamma Mia!, A Christmas Story. Broadway: Mamma Mia!, Tours: Mamma Mia!, She Loves Me, Disney On Classic. Regional: To Kill A Mockingbird, California Suite, 9 to 5, Noises Off and It’s A Wonderful Life. Disney Cruise Line’s Aladdin, Villains Tonight, and Believe. Television: TONY Awards, Law & Order/SVU, Guiding Light, As The World Turns and many commercials. Actors’ Equity since ‘91.
