November 29 – December 22, 2024
Mill Mountain Theatre (MMT) is thrilled to wrap up its 60th anniversary season with the beloved musical, Annie, opening on the Trinkle MainStage this November. Running from November 29th through December 22nd 2024, Annie brings the holiday spirit to life, offering audiences a heartwarming story filled with optimism, catchy songs, and unforgettable characters.
As the final production of MMT’s milestone 60th season, Annie captures the essence of hope and community that has been a cornerstone of the theatre’s mission since its founding. “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our 60th anniversary than by sharing this timeless story with the Roanoke community,” said Ginger Poole, MMT’s Producing Artistic Director. “Annie is all about resilience and finding joy even in the toughest times, which speaks directly to the spirit of the holiday season and our own journey as a theatre.”
This production of Annie promises to deliver all the beloved songs like “Tomorrow” and “It’s a Hard Knock Life,” along with dazzling choreography and stunning set designs. Ginger Poole noted, “Our creative team has worked tirelessly to capture the magic of the show while making it feel fresh and exciting for our audience. The energy from the young cast is contagious, and we can’t wait to share that with the community.”
MMT’s production also celebrates local talent, with young performers from across the region taking on the roles of Annie and the orphans. “One of the best parts of doing a show like Annie is watching these young actors grow from our Conservatory program to a professional stage environment,” added Poole. “Their enthusiasm and passion light up the stage. They’re the heart of the show.”
