Parking
Directions also here:
ParkRoanoke, the city agency that operates downtown parking garages, has installed new equipment in the Center in the Square Garage at 11 Campbell Ave. The change removed gates at the garage’s entrance and exits to enable parkers to move in and out more quickly than before. The system for payment uses cameras that read license plates on vehicles as they enter and leave the garage and charges fees to their credit cards. For Mill Mountain Theatre patrons who qualify for free parking, the attached sticker and QR code pays your parking fee when you are attending a performance in our theatres.
Here is the process for using the new system:
Pay with phone and follow directions below:
- Enter the garage at a slow speed but without stopping. Find your parking spot and take your mobile phone and note your license plate number.
- Go to one of the several ‘Pay Here With Phone’ signs located inside the garage.
- Scan the QR code on the garage signage to begin the parking session. Enter license plate information. Select the amount of time you expect to be in the garage (MMT patrons should estimate 150 minutes). Add parker and payment information. Final screen will allow you to view remaining time and/or extend time.
- After enjoying the performance at Mill Mountain Theatre, return to your car and leave the garage without stopping at the gate. The license plate recognition system will end your session at time of exit and charge for only the time parked.
No Phone payment using pay station on ground floor ONLY: (step by step instructions are posted)
- Note License plate #
- Visit pay station on ground level by main entrance
- Follow Prompts on meter
- Pay with cash/credit
- Note: No refunds or changes given
- Pay station payments are pre-paid

Bus Accommodations
Bus Loading and Unloading
- From Jefferson Street pull onto Campbell Ave directly in front of the Center in the Square Building. This is the only designated unloading/loading zone for Center in the Square.
- Pull as close to the curb as possible (this is important as to not block the traffic on Campbell Ave)
- Do not pull in front of the Market Square Plaza. Do not block Orvis or the parking garage entrance.
- Once your passengers have debarked, please move your bus immediately to a parking area (Please see options for parking below!)
- If there is no space in the unloading/loading zone, please drive around the block to give other buses a chance to depart. This area is not intended for waiting.
Bus Parking
There are two options for parking buses, both are free:
- Third Street Parking – Proceed down Campbell Ave through the intersection. After you pass the railroad tracks, take an immediate right onto Third Street behind Firestone. There is Bus/RV parking on the right-hand side of the street. Please do not park in the Premier Parking Lot, you will receive a ticket.
- The Berglund Center – From Campbell take a left onto Williamson Road at the Intersection and proceed to the Berglund Center on the left. You may park the buses in the lower parking lot closest to McDonald’s.
